Peake's Progress is a collection of some of the works of Mervyn Peake collected into one volume by his wife some years after his death. It contains Peakes progress book stories, poems, drawings, plays, radio scripts, many of which had been published previously, but quite a few which were never published in the authors lifetime/5.
On the reliability of the texts in Peake’s Progress. When Peake’s Progress was first published by Allen Lane init contained hundreds of misprints, mistakes and omissions. (There’s a whole stanza missing from The Rhyme of the Flying Bomb, for instance.)This edition should not be used for reference.
Mervyn Peake was a writer, artist, poet and playwright, best known for his gothic masterpiece, the Gormenghast trilogy.
